May 30, 2015 was a great day for us as we celebrated 40years of our existence as a Religious family at Holy Cross Cathedral, Benin City. We marked 40 years on April 6, 2015 but set aside May 30, 2015 to celebrate this giant milestone in our life. It was a threefold event; Silver jubilee celebration of one of our Sisters- Sr. Mary Aisagbonhi, SSH, Perpetual Religious Profession of Vows of two of our Sisters- Evelyn Eseigbe, SSH and Josephine Obidinnu, SSH and 40th Anniversary celebration of our Congregation.
The celebration which was a very colourful one, witnessed in attendance, dignitaries from various parts of the country; we had our very first formator –Sr. Sylvia Thibodeaux, SSL, USA in our midst. The chief shepherd of the Archdiocese of Benin, Most Rev. Augustine Obiora Akubeze was the chief celebrant at the Eucharistic celebration; he enjoined the Sisters in his homily, to keep always alive the spirit of their founder- Most Rev. Patrick Ebosele Ekpu. His Lordship, Most Rev. Martin Uzoukwu whom we work in his Diocese, was also there to celebrate with us. The Sisters and their families, friends, guests danced and rendered praises to God for his goodness in the life of the Sisters.
Immediately after the Eucharistic celebration, everyone proceeded to the reception venue where the celebration continued with various social entertainments, cutting of the jubilee cake, dance, dance, dance. All our guests were treated to nice meal, everyone had enough to eat.
